Prehistoric Crafts is my journey as an experimental archaeologist and flint knapper. I create and offer replica stone tools made with prehistoric techniques, and offer a made to order services. I am also partner and replica supplier to Creswell Crags, and collaborate in documentary films to educate all about prehistory.
I design and make natural wood bottle holders from kiln dried tree stumps with special character. Now developed into small tables with a glass top.
Penn Oast was originally used to dry hops when hop fields were common in the Kentish countryside. Hop farming is less common now as more and more hops are imported from the continent. The oast house is now our family home and sits at the centre of our eight acre vineyard. While maintaining the rurality of the area, we’ve embraced the opportunity brought by climate change to grow grapes instead of hops.
